You don’t have to be on every social network

My social Network on Flickr, Facebook, Twitter...

It’s impossible to maintain an active presence on every social network. But here’s the best part: you don’t have to. If your primary purpose for participating in Social Networking, you should concentrate your efforts where your customers are.

As a default, I recommend a presence on the big three: LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. To use a great analogy comparing Social Networks and attire, here’s what you get: LinkedIn is your business suit, Facebook is business casual, and Twitter is a  24/7 ongoing cocktail party.

I love the analogies, Rick!
